Day 3 of 8 in Seoul: Bukchon Hanok Village, Myeongdong & Dongdaemun

We visited Myeongdong THRICE and trust me, it has got to be the best area that you should not miss!

Itinerary for Day 3 was Bukchon Hanok Village, followed by Insadong with some temple visiting... Took a cab from our apartment to our destination for less than 7000won.

Directions: Alight at Anguk Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 2. Go straight for about 300m to arrive at the Village.

The entire place is quite steep throughout but safe enough to maneuver about.

Taking solo picture with a wooden door. Random much.
My gorgeous hair condition is only visible in Seoul :(

The village wasn't jam-packed surprisingly.

#ootd for that day HAHAHA every spot of the alley looks perfect for ootd shots please.

Guess I'm just spamming images of myself... and myself.

Featuring Mum holding onto Dad's hand ^^

 Breathtaking view

Despite the sunlight, it wasn't even hot at all thanks to the cold wind.

"Faster take (the shot) please I'm freezing"

Really leh. I think my hair is in a splendid condition due to the ideal weather in Seoul!!!

Personally, I feel that Bukchon Hanok Village is worth a visit as you will be experiencing the atmosphere of the Joseon Dynasty. The traditional village is composed with lots of alleys, korean traditional houses and is preserved to show a 600-year-old urban environment.

Apart from all the facts on the traditional village, I absolutely adore the serenity and strolling at the narrow steep alleys. Tip: Forget about purchasing items along the village as they tend to cheat tourist with absurd prices. Just explore the area at your leisure pace, snap some instagram-worthy shots.

As we lost our way and couldn't get assistance from our GPS, we had to walk along the main road until we spot a taxi. HAHA

Dad is in love with octopus!

In the midst of enjoying Seoul's scenery... I spotted takoyaki lorry!

After snapping this #foodporn image, my bonito flakes flew together with the direction of the wind :(

Remember our initial itinerary was to proceed to Insadong after Bukchon Hanok Village? Yes, bro felt that Insadong is a highly raved tourist attraction and they have nothing much there except for accessories, kitchen appliances and the famous Ssamziegil Shopping Complex with unique design in such a way by connecting the alleys in the form of a spiral-like stairway.

Hence, we hailed a cab to Myeongdong (this place was meant for Day 4) and also, I couldn't contain my excitement there.

We started shopping at Myeongdong street right opposite Lotte Young Plaza. Oh no I'm missing their street food so badly!

Next time I can consider staying at Ibis Myeongdong hotel! It is within walking distance to that street and I will definitely spend my expenses here.

Basically, Myeongdong street is something like Orchard road area, but the spacious alleys are filled with street stalls. Although we are aware that this place is also part of the tourist attraction, we are willing to get "chopped" because the atmosphere, food and shopping simply makes our mood better than ever!

Random shot taken at Forever21

I think there are 3 Innisfree outlets in just 1 street. Seriously?!

Bro with Song Jihyo

Now moving on to the food... highly anticipated stuff man.

 Churros and more Churros!

Look at my tam jiak face haha

MOST preferred street food - glass noodle for 3,000won!

Wah give me 2 bowls and I will be on cloud nine. I think we bought 3 bowls on that day. OMG. The best noodle ever, enough said.

Busy munching ~

Hotdog with french fries topped with tomato sauce

2nd tam jiak face

This freshly squeezed pomegranate juice cost freaking 4,000won (approx. 5SGD)
LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THE DRINK.

This is funny, moments after I took this image, that guy said that no photography is allowed.
#thankstomyfastspeed

Let's take a moment of silence please....
I can't emphasize my love for Nutella/Chocolate+banana. This combination is daebak.
Nutella Banana with cornflakes crepe for 4,000won

MOST tam jiak face

Look at my expression, grinning from ear to ear. I can't even maintain.......... HAHAHAHA. Verdict: 5SGD is definitely worth it! The crepe is huge and the greedy me can't even finish 1 crepe on my own!

**IMPORTANT FOR MYEONGDONG LOVERS: Please note that the street stalls will NOT be there on weekdays before 5pm. I believe that they will set up way earlier on weekends**

I wasn't aware of this initially and I planned to visit Myeongdong on a Monday morning lol. Reason being that we went down to Myeongdong again the next afternoon and was puzzled at the unanticipated crowd.

We simply love their street food so much to the extend that we takeaway to our apartment. LOOK AT THAT.
Jajangmyeon, glass noodle, meatballs, chicken teriyaki, grilled octopus and toppoki
Enjoying Running Man on SBS (without subtitles) whilst having dinner

Now that I recall on my day 3 itinerary, we really went to quite a number of places unexpectedly. After slacking on the comfy bed right after dinner, we decided to brave against the icy weather (it was less than 5°C every night) to visit Dongdaemun at 9pm+...

I didn't include any directions for Myeongdong & Dongdaemun as these 2 streets are extremely accessible via subway and they are not situated at one spot only. Which means you are able to start your shopping route ANYWHERE you want it to be.

FYI, this is the map of Dongdaemun district

Doota exterior building at night

Migliore shopping mall
(extremely similar to BKK's Platinum Fashion Mall)

We spent most of our time at Migliore shopping mall whenever we are at DDM. To find out more about Migliore mall, I remember Andrea visited this mall in one of the "That F Word" episodes on clicknetwork.tv.

Anyhow, I am aware that Migliore mall is a place where the locals will raise their price especially aimed at tourist but we managed to find an extremely friendly local selling souvenirs for Korea unexpectedly. Saranghae! Thanks for your warm hospitality and agreeing to our bargains.

Ending this post with tourist shots as usual.
